I won't lie, my first impression of the helmet was, "boy, is it expensive." I read all the specs. for the Ion 4D and the other leading helmets in the market. After careful consideration, I just thought the protection it claims to provide to a player's head was just too important to ignore. Buying the Ion 4D was the best decision I ever made for my son. Last season, he was an 11yo starting at MLB on a division with mostly 12yo boys. He easily had over 100 tackles including over 20 in two of the eight games. Not only was the Ion 4D more comfortable but not once did he complain about seeing stars after a hit as he sometimes felt the season before wearing a helmet from another leading manufacturer. That in itself was priceless. I also want to thank Dan and his staff for getting the helmet to me quickly in time for the start of the season. I just sent our helmet in to have it reconditioned that would include a new paint color. Base on my prior experience with Dannco and Schutt, there is no doubt the helmet will be returned to us like new and in plenty of time for this season. I strongly recommend the Ion 4D to anyone. The brain is just too important to ignore compare to a few bucks that may be saved. GO ROSEMEAD REBELS JR. MIDGETS DIVISION IN 2009!!! |
